What Pride is about: a celebration of where we’ve been, were we’re going, it’s about taking pride in ourself and our community in the face of a world that tells us to be ashamed, it’s about love and support and the fights we’ve fought together (and are still fight) for equal rights, dignity, and respect.
What Pride is not about: point scoring, claiming one group has more of a right to pride or another has less of a right to pride because of bull shit reasons, ripping each other down, trying to look the most woke in some bullshit internet wokeness Olympics, it’s fucking day two of pride and have already seen enough dumb hot takes to last a life time.
we are a family, we don’t always got to like each other, we do have to love each other, pride is our high holidays so make like family and at least act like you like each other for one month? you can go back to being rotten in July. There’s whole big mean nasty world that was to literally kill us, we hang together or they’ll hang us separately
